It’s another awesome week with CASology and I can’t wait to share with you a watercolor background card I made specially for a dear friend of mine.
When I look at words like pretty, all I can think of is something floral and so I was inspired to make a very pastel, soft and sweet card to fit this week’s cue.
Here is my creation,
On a water color paper, I stamped images from Altenew Whimsical Flowers using watermark ink pad. I embossed with Sparkle embossing powder so it acts as a resist against the water color.
I brush the whole watercolor paper with water and using Distress Markers Peeled Paint and Festive Berries, I used a paint brush to pick up the colors dab it over the water color to let it spread naturally.
I love using this technique, the natural flow of the water on the water color paper is just so pretty, light and you will always get a very different look each time.
I heat set it to dry the background, stamp the sentiment from Mama Elephant Blessed using Versafine Olympia Green Pigment Ink.
I ink the sides of the water color paper as well and finally, tie an ivory ribbon to complete the whole pretty look.
The whole water color paper is adhered to card base using foam tape.
Adding a little color to the usual white space for CAS cards can add a refreshing look.
I hope you like today’s creation. Can’t wait to see what you are going to create. Do check out my wonderful team’s creation and be inspired,
