Need a Christmas wreath for your card?

It is not Christmas without a Christmas wreath and well, I do not have any wreath stamp and I had to create one with my recently opened Paper Smooches Bold Blooms.  It is amazing what this stamp set is capable of creating and so, here is  my simple Christmas wreath for my Christmas card project.

First, I traced a light circle with pencil just to make sure my Christmas wreath doesn’t go out of shape.

I used a blend of different colored inks by stamping the lightest green color first and proceeded to the darker green using the single leaf shape from the stamp set.  I changed to a tear shape stamp for the darkest green (161 Green Tea) stamping.

When that was done, I stamped the red three-petal flowers followed by small section of the stalk all over the wreath to give a mix of colors.

I used Versacolor pigment ink for all the stamping for this project as I think it is richer in color.

Once the stamping is done, I added Wink of Stella RED for the flowers.

I dotted around the wreath with a little Ranger Glossy accent and added glitter on it.  Any excess glitter is tapped off . The glitter does add a bit more life to it as this is a single layer card.

Well, if you don’t like the mess of glitter, I think it is also a nice touch just to add a thicker layer of glossy accent for all the flowers.  I amd sure it will look lovely!

I hope you like this idea of using very basic design stamps and create something totally different.  I am totally in awe by the Bold Blooms Clear Stamps by Paper Smooches.
