CMCC #82 – Andy Warhol Inspired Birthday Card

Hi everyone,

It’s time for CMCC and for today, it’s a special challenge where you get to choose the colour combination of your choice for your card challenge.

I am playing in Team 1 and will be having some fun with bold colours.

Inspired by Andy Warhol pop culture art, I made this birthday card using Paper Smooches Lovely Thoughts clear stamp.  So, if you have a stamp set that is similar to Paper Smooches where images includes outline and shading, that is the best set to play along this pop culture art design.

Here is my creation,

Each flower is made up of three different stamps and this project is easily done by alternating the ink colours.  It does not matter if the shading doesn’t fall perfectly within flower image line as it does look nice even when there is some white background showing between the outline and shading.

Here’s a closer look at the Paper Smooches Lovely Thoughts Clear Stamp.  There are two different flower sizes that comes with the outline and shading.  For this project, I have used the bigger flower.

With the use of clear stamps with images that are bold, I noticed that the best inks to be used on them is Versafine.  The pigment color will spread nicely all over the stamps when you ink them.   So, when you stamp it, it gets a more even and fine finish.

For this project, I have used mostly Versafine ink pads, except for the light cream colour which I have used Versacolor as I do not have any Versafine that matches the colour challenge.

    Hi Ren,
Your CAS Andy Warhol card turned out so well! I love the Paper Smooches Lovely Thoughts Clear Stamp. I such a pity that I can’t by Paper smooches in our Country.
I’m a fan of the crispy colors of Versafine to, the Onyx Black is such a deep dark black.
    Hugs, Antonia

Hi Antonia, thanks for dropping by. Yes, the Versafine works so well for photo polymer stamps as it retains a very good, crisp image.
