I made a fall themed thank you card for this week’s challenge at Colour Me and you will be amazed with the possibilities of playing with just one main color for your card making.
I used a leaf stencil from Stamplorations and distress ink for this challenge and basically share the different methods of applying ink to different effect, even when it is the same ink.
Here is my creation,
I have put up a time lapse video as I want to highlight the way I blend in Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade using the stencil.
Using Distress Marker Spritzer (my favorite as I can use Distress Markers, Copic Markers, Wink of Stella, etc), I spritz the same Spiced Marmalade and that gives a nice tiny dark specks all over the leaves.
Lastly, I spritz Wink of Stella to get that subtle hue of shimmer all over. I can’t apply Wink of Stella directly on the leave as it will blend in all the colors. My intent is to show the different effect of ink application.
With the die cuts, I love making contrasting colors and add the darker die cut at the bottom. It adds like a shadow and gives a good 3D illusion.
I adhere the sentiment die cut to the background design using foam tape. And finally, the whole design is adhered to the card base with Sook Wang double sided tape. And finished off by applying Ranger Glossy Accent over the sentiment.
I hope you like today’s card and join us at the challenge. I can’t wait to see what you create and drop by at your blog to view your paper craft.
Here are my team mates’ creation and I am sure you will be so inspired by their creation using this week’s color.
