Gold is the new Black?

Hi everyone,

Is gold the new black?  Yes it is!  I have a bottle of Hero Arts gold embossing powder which I normally use it only for Christmas cards but I have come to appreciate the beauty of it and decided to try it out on a CAS theme.

So today, I have a card to share with you based on CASology challenge (Blossom) and instead of the colorful flowers, I decided to make gold the main color theme.

Here it is,

I blend a circle background using Peel Paint Distress Ink.

I heat set it to make sure it is dry completely.

Next, I stamp the sentiment with Watermark and covered with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder so I can be sure of the position of the sentiment before stamping the small flowers.

I randomly stamp the small flowers using Watermark all over and cover it with the same Gold Embossing Powder.

I heat set it to melt the powder.

I hope you like this clean and simple design.  I particularly like the sentiment coming out from the blended circle background, and the mix of rustic, distress green with glamorous gold.

Did you notice there is one little heart there?  I like a little subtle hidden message and I try to incorporate that in my card.

I also want to highlight the quality of Hero Arts Embossing Powder.  I have this bottle with me for a long time, probably lasted seven Christmases! It still embosses well which I think it must be the quality of the product.  Usually embossing powder does lose it’s embossing capability after a few years but I am glad the basic gold is still working fine after so many years!

Gold IS the new black and I love how you’ve used it here! This is such a sweet card and I love how the sentiment extends off the masked circle!
