Guest Designer for CASology Challenge #130

Hi everyone,

Totally excited to be invited back to CASology Challenge blog as their Guest Designer for this week’s card challenge (FRIEND).

I really wanted to keep it simple and challenged myself with the use of just one stamp and accentuate the theme using different techniques.

This is what I came up with.

Plain and simple as it may seem, but with the use of Ranger Perfect Pearls, inspired by recent work of Kymona, this brings simplicity into a whole new level!

Now you see it….

Now you don’t

First, I inked my sentiment stamp with Versafine Onyx Black, stamp once on a tissue to lighten the shade and then, stamped on the card base, giving it a lighter shade and not too wet when the Ranger Perfect Pearls is applied.

I dap a dry paint brush into the Perfect Pearls (I am using the color code Perfect Pearl) to pick up a small amount sufficient to dust over my stamped sentiment.  After that is done, I tapped off excess and heat set a little, just to make sure the pigment ink is totally dry and that the Perfect Pearls stayed in place on the sentiment.

Next, I stamped the same sentiment on a separate cardstock, mixing Versafine Onyx Black and Crimson Red for the flower and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I cut out a tag emphasizing the word “YOU” with my circle die.  I then edge the round tag with Versamark Watermark ink and embossed the edge with Silver Embossing Powder.

And lastly, attached the round tag over my card base with foam tape.

It is almost like a magnifying glass emphasizing the word “YOU”, who is the friend! 😉

I hope you like this.  So, go on now to CASology and submit your project.  It’s a lovely cue!
