Last Christmas Card is done

This is the last Christmas card I’d be making for the year.  It’s a simple card that I want to make as I really think the hedgehog is really adorable.

I have used hammered texture card base and for this kind of texture, it is sometimes difficult to stamp.  However, I realized that Versafine on rubber and clear stamp is really very effective in making sure the whole image is transferred successfully onto the textured card base.

I used Penny Black woodmounted stamp and for the sentiment, it is from Hero Arts CL343 Holiday Sayings Clear Stamp set.  It’s versatile to use clear stamp sentiments as you can shape and align it according to your preference.  What I did to this clear stamp was to bend it slightly when I attached to my acrylic block, to achieve that curved stamped sentiment.

The image and sentiment are both stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder.  This is only possible when you use Versafine pigment ink as it is able to capture every detail on the stamp and transfer every details onto a textured paper well.

Supplies and Tools

  • White card base
  • Penny Black 1447H A Gift For You Woodmounted Stamp
  • Hero Arts CL343 Holiday Saying Clear Stamp Set
  • Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink
  • Clear embossing powder
  • Copic Markers
  • Heat tool for setting embossing powder

Step by step instructions

  1. Stamp hedgehog and sentiment onto card base using Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink, apply embossing powder and heat set with heat tool.
  2. Color with copic markers.

This is really a very simple card to make.  I didn’t want to add any embellishment as I find the image itself is already very complete.  Another clean and simple design.  I hope you like it and have a wonder week ahead!
