This is my very first work published here using Lawn Fawn Flying By clear stamp. It’s a very small set but I have been making several cards with this little stamp set.
Inspired by CASology’s latest challenge “MINI“, I wanted to make a card with just a small, simple message, no image, no embellishment, nothing…but accentuate the message that is tucked in one corner of the card with a bright background to send the message across clearly.
So, this is what I did…using the white embossing on white paper technique.
I stamped the message “Flying By to Say Hi” with Watermark, bending the polymer sentiment stamp to let it run parallel to the dotted lines.
Next I emboss with Ranger Foam White embossing powder for the stamped message.
And this is how it looked like before the background water coloring took place.
Next, I took a large paint brush and wet the area I intend to add distress markers to it. After adding the colors to the wet area, I heat set it before tapping off some excess orange color over the card to create those dots all over.
I wanted something bright and cheery to really make the message stand out since everything is in white.
So, I chose Mowed Lawn and Ripe Persimmon and was really happy with the combination of the two…bright and cheery!
I hope you like this design and the little trick of bending the polymer sentiment stamp.
