Can’t believe we have already “scoot” past the month of July and ready for a brand new month!
Today, I am going to share with you this wonderful Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooters clear stamp which I really adore.
The scooter and coordinating images somehow reminds me of something very retro, colorful and a little like the 60’s!
So, I paired up a few challenges to come up with this fun card, making it bright, retro and colorful!
Here is my creation to share with you,
Inking the background is really fun! I used Simon Says Stamp Harlequin Stencil to do my blending of three different distress inks, by shifting the stencil at a regular spacing to create the over lapping blending effect.
Next, I stamped the scooter on a white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers. I do not have the dies for the Spiffy Scooter and so, I fussy cut out the image with EK Honey Bee Craft Scissors (I find this craft scissors is fantastic for clean and precise cut!).
I position the background and cut out scooter so I know where to stamp the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Deep Lagoon and embossed with clear embossing powder.
I also decided to ink the sides of the background border with the same Versafine Deep Lagoon ink so that the background will really stand out from the white card base.
I attached the background design to card base using double sided tape and the scooter is adhered using foam tape.
I used copic markers to add a light shadow for the scooter.
The stencil comes in a set with Hourglass and it is a wonderful stencil to create bold background. Here’s a look at the coordinating stencils. I am only using the one on the right for this project.
