I came across this challenge that is really quite interesting and this is the first time I am participating with them.
The Fusion Card Challenge allows you the option to either play with the sketch or the inspiration photo or both!
I got inspired by the color combination from the photo and wanted to challenge myself to fit all that into the sketch, using my all time favorite stamp from Penny Black Critters range.
And here is my Penny Black Valentine Card creation, inspired by the fact that V Day is the next big card giving occasion.
First, I stamped the Penny Black 1664J Mice on a round water color cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. I trimmed off the right side of the circle so that it is more in line with the sketch.
I colored the image using Copic Markers using colors combination from the photograph. I added Wink of Stella (Clear) to the pink flower petals to add some shimmer.
Next, I trimmed out pattern papers according to the card sketch and attached to the card base.
The sentiment is cut using Paper Smooches FBD021 Love Word Die. This is a wonderful die which has a complementary clear stamp set. But I didn’t stamp the sentiment, I colored with Copic Markers and applied a layer of Ranger Glossy Accent. After it’s dried, I adhered to the card using foam tape.
I hope you like this creation…I sure do!
*** Update: I have also submitted to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge as I mixed an old Penny Black stamp with my brand new Paper Smooches Love Word diecut.
