Photo inspired greeting card

Are you on Instagram? I am and absolutely love it.

I am always so inspired by the photos I get to browse through and can’t wait to share with you how these photos are translated to a greeting card.

This is the “debut” of one such photo inspired greeting card and I plan to really do it on a consistent basis. Sometimes we forget how little things we share just inspires others in some way.

Here is a wonderful picture shared by coolcastdesigns on Instagram and since I am quite a foodie, this really caught my eye because I never tried putting candy cane in a cuppa!

So here I am trying to recreate this image through this greeting card.

I used Lawn Fawn LF 704 Love You A Latte stamps and LF705 dies for this piece and image is stamped using Versacolor Pigment ink (151 Sand Beige and 154 Bark) for the donuts and sentiments.

After coloring the donuts, I dab some Versamark Watermark ink and gently transfer the ink to the donut as I don’t want to emboss the whole donut but just specks of seaform white embossing to make it look like icing sugar.  Once you put on the embossing powder and if you notice it’s way too much on it, just use a sharp tweezer and scrap it off.

I heat set it and it came out just what I wanted, specks of white embossing over the whole donut.

As for the cuppa and candy cane, I just cut a small slit on the cuppa and insert the candy cane.

This is then attached to the card base using a foam tape for added dimension. Start looking around you and draw the inspiration!  Have a wonderful week ahead!
