Happy Saturday everyone,
I’m in the mood for using wood mounted stamps from Penny Black. I just couldn’t resist the adorable critters from Penny Black and decided to make this “Purrr-fect” Friend card using Penny Black Angel Cat (Code: 3279J).
The sentiment is from Penny Black To My Friend (Code 1748F) and with a little tweak, I managed to create a simple wording “Purr-fect” friend…, just by inking parts of the sentiment for stamping.
Here is my creation today,
After stamping the cat and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a piece of cold pressed water color paper, I let the ink stand to dry. As Versafine takes a while to dry, you may want to heat set it to speed up the drying process, but I left it as it is to dry while clearing my laundry.
When the image totally dried up, I water color the cat using Distress Markers. I wanted this card to exude soft colors and decided to use very limited colors by keeping to shades of blue, brown, yellow and grey.
For the sentiment, I stamped the words separately. Using washi tape, I taped up the areas that didn’t need to be inked and stamped. After inking the stamp, simply remove the washi tape and stamp the sentiment. I did that twice for both “Purrr-fect” and “friend…”, using Versafine Onyx Black as well.
I hope you like this clean and simple design. This card is inspired by the challenge hosted by CASology and this week, the cue is “Wings” and I can’t help but to submit this “Purrr-fect” cat as I think it’s really adorable!
