Stamping on Vellum

Happy Saturday,

Inspired by the simple sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, I made a clean and simple (CAS) card but added vellum to give a different effect on the overall look of the card.

Stamping on vellum requires the right ink to be used to prevent smudging.  I checked through my stash of inkpads and thought Brilliance by Tsukineko would be a great ink to use.

This is what I came up with,

Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings

On a piece of vellum, I stamped the background using Penny Black Letter Background (Code: 1999L) using Brilliance – Rocket Red Gold.  The ink took some time to dry and when it was all dry, I die cut it using MFT In&Out Stitched Rounded Border Square.

I stamp the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings (using partial of the stamp) using the same ink on the card base.

I trim a strip off the vellum to have the layout as close as possible to the challenge sketch and attach the vellum on the card stock using Ranger Glossy Accent by applying a very thin layer.

I hope you like this.  Really love using vellum and if you do not have vellum but want to achieve that blurry effect, you may want to check this card.

Wonderfully CAS card, Ren. Red is one of my favorite colors, and it’s so striking on vellum and against that white background. Really a great card, and I’d pick it as a winner! Love it!
