Happy Sunday,
Based on Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Orchard, I wanted to create a whimsical scene using the photo and color as a source of inspiration.
So who stole the apple from the orchard? Let’s take a look at the card I created for this fun challenge,
I used a water color cardstock for my stamping and water coloring and have the four sides masked with washi tape.
I stamped the tree furthest away using the lightest color, followed by a slightly darker shade and finally, a darker brown for the first facing tree.
The inks I use are VersaMagic Wheat, VersaColor Sand Beige and VersaMagic Sahara Sand. I heat set the stamped image to dry the stamping as the inks are rather wet and I wanted to make sure they don’t smudge when I do the blending of background.
Next, I did a little blending using Distress inks - Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Dried Marigold and Frayed Burlap with the round mini blending tool. I took a wet brush and blended some parts of the background, especially in areas where the different distress ink meet.
When the background is dry, I stamped the silhouette of the mysterious critter which stole the apple using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then, I stamped the stump and sentiment using Versafine Toffee.
I lightly brushed some Ranger Perfect Pearls - Perfect Pearls on the tree leaves and flowers to add a little shimmer.
Finally, I attached the water color paper over to my card stock using double sided tape.
Hope you like this little whimsical I have created today. It is always fun to try something different.
