Window Card without the Window?

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year and hope you had a great countdown and celebration!

Well, I have always like window cards but today, I wanted to make a window card without a window as I didn’t have have a suitable die to cut out the window for this card.

So, here is my simple one layer “window” card and all you need is a suitable frame stamp that is able to create a window for your card.

I have used Mama Elephant Type It Clear stamp, the Polaroid frame for this.  And for the character, I can’t help but to use Magnolia Heartbreaker Edwin.  He is such an angel!

I stamp the frame first and then, covered with post it around the outside of the frame before stamping Edwin.

I colored everything with Copic Markers, except for the background inside the window, where I blended the colors using chalk instead of distress ink.

The trick of adding a little more dimension is adding a faint shadow along the top and right of the frame.  I used Copic Marker C5 and then used the Copic Colorless Blender to lighten it slightly.

Really enjoy using the very versatile Mama Elephant Type it Clear Stamp set.  The sentiment “Miss You” is also from the clear stamp set, there are other simple sentiments available in the clear stamp where you can change the message very easily with this set.  Hope you have fun making this simple Window Card.

Check out other projects I made with this stamp set.
